Young activists decide to break the law to stop a mining company from dumping waste into a Norwegian fjord. Long synopsis: The film follows young activists as they break the law to stop a mining company from dumping 250 million tons of waste into a Norwegian fjord. On the top of a freezing, icy mountain, 80 youths chained themselves to mining drills to save the fjord, in what became the biggest civil disobedience action in Norway in 30 years. Norway, which proudly brands itself as a ‘green country’ and whose pristine fjords draw hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, is the only country in Europe that allows sea dumping of tailings. The film tells an intimate and personal story about a political battle, and why young people decide to break the law for a fjord that’s hundreds of miles away from their home.
