At the close of the festival, at the Awards Ceremony, we always look forward to meeting awarded filmmakers, who come and collect their awards in person. It is rather unusual, considering the International Jury discloses the winners shortly before the start of the festival.
Directors and filmmakers are sometimes informed on such short notice, that for some it is very hard to change their plans and arrange trip to Slovakia. That is why we appreciate each one who decides to come. We’re glad that also thanks to our festival foreigners can explore our little big country.
It is a long-term tradition for embassies to collect the award for the absent filmmaker. To make the event more dynamic and bring the filmmakers closer to attendees, we encourage them to send video messages. Creativity know no bounds 🙂
