“The Story of a Panty, and of Those Who Make It” is the story of a panty, so innocuous, that protects what is most intimate. A garment which, when one traces its manufacturing process, can symbolize on its own the mechanisms of our globalized world. This film connects five women: a farmer in the cotton fields of Uzbekistan, a spinner and a dyer in India, an activist for the rights of women workers in Indonesia, and finally the filmmaker´s mother working in her shop in Belgium where she grew up.
